Please do not cut your lawn for 3-4 weeks, or until you are able to firmly pull on the grass and it does not lift up from the ground. This is very important to allow the grass to firmly take root. Water every day (unless it rains) for 30 minutes for the next 4 weeks.

St. Augustine Sod: Cutting height is extremely important. This grass should be cut between a height of 3-4 inches. This will allow your grass to remain plush, meanwhile helping to keep out weeds. Cutting too short is referred to as scalping. Scalping can put your grass at risk for weed development while it is re-growing. During periods of stress, such as very hot or cold temperatures, as well as very dry conditions, scalping can actually kill your grass. It will also cause your grass to have yellow-brown patches.

Bahia Sod: Cutting height is between 1.5-2.5 inches. Again, cutting too short (scalping) or allowing to grow too long can result in weed development. During periods of stress, such as very hot or cold temperatures, as well as very dry conditions, scalping can actually kill your grass. It will also cause your grass to have yellow-brown patches. Bahia needs more frequent mowing as it develops seed heads quickly.

Warranty: Our sod carries a 30 day warranty IF these instructions are followed. If the customer does not follow these instructions, the warranty is null and void, and any repairs or replacement costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
